FAQs

Our short response is – yes. This does not mean that there are no risks involved with coming to Guatemala, it is a third world country, and that means there are always risks. However, we are incredibly concerned with your safety and do our absolute best to ensure your security during your time with us. We do this by having close relationships with local law enforcement, keeping up to date on the latest travel restrictions, and staying up to date on the latest news in Guatemala.

Email becca@reachingtheamericas.org for rates for individuals, groups, and more. Our mission trip pricing includes your lodging, transportation, meals, etc. We’ll help you with the resources you need to fundraise!

No, we have several bilingual team members who can translate for you! We do recommend you learn some phrases in Spanish to enhance your experience prior to arrival.

I loved Paul and Thania's hospitality to us and others. Through my mission trip, I learned a lot about communication. It was such a neat experience to meet fellow first responders, discover what we share in common, and working to share knowledge with them through the language barrier. Understanding each other took teamwork and effort, but it was so worth it! I'm also very grateful to the Misión Hispana young men who accompanied us. From acting as patients to helping me speak Spanish, we couldn't have done it without them!
